Ismael Soto is a seasoned senior leader with extensive expertise across multiple sectors, with a strong emphasis on K-12 education. He is widely recognized for his ability to design innovative programs, drive operational efficiency, and lead transformative change while optimizing costs.

Ismael’s career began in 1997 as a Visual and Performing Arts teacher, where he delivered a rigorous curriculum to students in grades 3 through 8 in underserved communities. His commitment to educational equity and excellence led him to transition into arts education administration in 2007. From 2007 to 2015, he successfully led a team of educators across multiple schools, expanding access to high-quality arts programs and building strong community partnerships.

From 2015 to 2022, Ismael held key leadership positions at Magnolia Public Schools in Los Angeles, including Senior Director of Development and Communications, Interim Chief External Officer, and District-Wide Arts Advisor. One of his major accomplishments was leading a team of 22 stakeholders over two years to develop a collective vision that reflected the aspirations of the community, resulting in a new mission, vision, and five-year strategic plan. He also spearheaded the district’s transition from a STEM to STEAM education model, collaborating closely with arts leaders, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors to enhance educational outcomes.

Currently, Ismael consults with Thrive and Education Growth Group, where he continues to drive strategic initiatives focused on sustainability and growth for educational institutions. His career is defined by a commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and leadership, with a lasting impact on the education sector and beyond.
